Bengaluru: Prime Minister Modi’s jibe at the Congress party terming it as the ‘Punjab, Puducherry, Parivar’ seems to have come true with the BJP clearly wresting ahead in Karnataka assembly elections.

Contrary to most exit poll predictions that indicated a hung assembly in the state, the BJP is inching towards victory with a clear majority. The magic mark being 112.

‘Et tu Karnataka’ tweeted former J&K CM Omar Abdullah as the state stood close to being engulfed with the saffron wave that has now spread almost all over the nation.

With a loss in the state elections, being cited as the gateway to the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, the Congress now remains in power only in Punjab, Puducherry, while the BJP will be expanding its footprint in southern India.

Notably, CM Siddaramaiah is trailing to JD(S)’s GT Devegowda in the Chamundeswari constituency while the fight is still on in Badami.
