Bengaluru: Unable to bear the insults hurled by the winning opponents after college union elections, a depressed engineering student committed suicide on February 7.
Meghna (18), who was studying in the 2nd semester civil engineering at Dayananda Sagar College of Engineering in Kumarswamy Layout, became a victim of humiliation post electoral defeat.
The incident took place in Rajarajeswarinagar, Bangalore, where she committed suicide by hanging at her residence.
Meghana ended life, when her mother Lata left home to leave her father Chandrashekhar, a visually impaired man to the work place.
The parents have alleged that ragging by a section of college students on the winning side forced their daughter to take the extreme step.
Rajarajeshwarinagar Police have registered a case into the incident.
Despite blindness taking the light away from the life of the family head Chandrashekar, the family donated the eyes of their daughter.
