The Election Commission of India has unveiled the voting schedule and result declaration dates for the 2024 Lok Sabha Elections. The polls will span 7 phases, commencing from April 19 and concluding on June 1, encompassing a total of 543 constituencies. Karnataka’s 28 seats will see contestation in the second and third phases, slated for April 26 and May 7 respectively.
Bengaluru Lok Sabha Elections Date Announced
Bengaluru, comprising four Lok Sabha seats, is set to cast its votes on April 26, with results expected by June 4. In the previous 2019 elections, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) emerged victorious in three out of four Bengaluru seats, while the Congress secured one. Notably, DK Suresh of the Congress won in Bangalore Rural, while DV Sadananda Gowda, PC Mohan, and Tejasvi Surya, representing the BJP, secured victories from Bangalore North, Bangalore Central, and Bangalore South respectively.
Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar disclosed that a staggering 96.8 crore voters are poised to exercise their voting rights in the upcoming elections. With 10.5 lakh polling stations and 1.5 crore polling officials and security personnel prepared, the stage is set for the monumental electoral process in the world’s largest democracy.
