Bengaluru: The State government has announced that the public holiday for Eid-ul-Fitr will be now on Thursday, July 7.

The festival of the Muslim community, Eid-ul-Fitr where they break their month-long fast held during Ramadan will be celebrated on Wednesday here in Mangaluru.

The Central government issued the directives to postpone the holiday from July 6 to July 7 as Bengaluru, Delhi and most places in India would be celebrating Eid on Thursday.

However, the government officials and employees in Mangaluru and other places in the coastal region have been given the permission to take holiday on Wednesday, July 6, to celebrate the festival.
