EC to appoint “campus ambassadors” to create voter awareness

Bengaluru: The Election Commission, which is already busy in increasing voter awareness on exercising franchise has now decided to select “campus ambassadors” for important colleges in the city i.e one ambassador for each college. 150 students are being selected.

In a joint press meet, City Police Commissioner T Sunil Kumar and District Electoral Officer N. Manjunath Prasad, here at IPP Hall of Malleshwaram, said that ambassadors have been appointed to create awareness about voting.

Along with this, to provide victory to the democracy by voting, already 4,486 booth vigilance squads have been formed. Booth-level officers will visit the houses of voters in advance, distribute pamphlets and create awareness about voting, Manjunath Prasad said.
