Bangalore: The Bangalore city traffic police have booked 947 motorists for drinking and driving on Saturday.

The five hours drive which started from 9 pm on Saturday and ended at 2 am on Sunday. The traffic police found 695 two wheeler riders and 166 car drivers under the influence of alcohol. The remaining vehicles booked are autos and lorries. The police conducted checks in and around Bangalore city.

The vehicles have been seized and the Driving Licenses have been impounded and sent to Regional Transport Authority for suspension, a senior police officer said.
