Bengaluru: A team comprising of experts in aerospace and UAV technologies in the city is working on designing an Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV), to transport organs.

The team’s objective would be to ferry the organs faster as every second for a patient waiting for transplant is invaluable. Their main focus would be on transporting organs, preserving them for longer time. As of now, they are in talks with the doctors of the country as well as the United States, deciding the facilities required to transport the organ safely.
If the team comes out successful, the transportation time would be reduced by 50 per cent.
According to inside sources, that the project would be forwarded to government for funding and clearance only after the details were finalized and the first leg of process was complete.
The foremost challenge for the team is to design a drone that could carry 250 grams and travel a distance 100 kilometers.
