
Bengaluru: Amid the surge in Covid cases here, drones are to be used to sanitize containment zones as well as deliver drugs and essential items to the affected people.
An initiative of Bengaluru-Central MP P C Mohan and Garuda Aerospace, the drive to sanitize containment zones was started by Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa on Friday, April 30.
Speaking at the launch, the CM said, “It is important to provide timely delivery of emergency drugs and vaccines during these difficult times. I’m pleased to report that drones will be used for the first time in the country to deliver drugs and sanitize public spaces.
He informed that the drones with a capacity to carry 35-40 kg of materials can be used for delivering medicines and essential goods besides sanitizing the areas.
