Drag racing will not be tolerated : Home Minister George

Bangalore: Taking serious cognizance of the rise in accident cases due to drag racing in the city, Home Minister K J George has said that directions have been issued to the police to cancel the licenses of people involved in such acts.

In a written reply to BJP member Lehar Singh, the Home  Minister said  so far cases have been registered against 173 persons indulging in drag racing in the city and added that action have been taken against the guilty.

Five persons, including the prime accused Mayur in the Sandeep murder case, have been apprehended, he said in his reply to a question on the action taken by the police to prevent drag racing in the wake of death of 25-year-old Sandeep, who was killed by a drag racer on January 26.
