Dr Suresh Kunhi Mohammed appointed SIT chief; Seemanth is IGP

Bengaluru: Dr Suresh Kunhi Mohammed has been appointed by the Karnataka government as the chief of the Special Investigation Team (SIT) probing illegal mining in the State. He is a 1992 batch IPS officer.

Hailing from Malappuram in Kerala, he also holds an MBBS degree.

Although Malini Krishnamurthy was named SIT chief on January 1, 2016 after the transfer K.S.R. Charan Reddy, who was holding the post, she was shifted in less than a
week even before she took charge and the post had been vacant since then.

Rohini Katoch Sepat, was posted as Superintendent of Police, SIT, on January 1, 2016 and later transferred along with Krishnamurthy. The post is still lying vacant.

Seemanth Kumar Singh has been posted as IGP, Administration, in place of Dr Suresh Kunhi Mohammed.
