Bengaluru: The state education department has extended the last date for admissions in private unaided schools to October 16.

This decision was taken following complaints by the managements of private schools that many children are neither getting admitting nor are taking transfer certificates.

According to the earlier order, the last date for admissions was September 30.

Meanwhile, the Department of Public Instruction has cancelled the Dasara holidays for all school teachers. The teachers have been asked to continue the Vidyagama programme. Private schools shall continue online classes for the children till further notice.
