Bengaluru: Chief minister Siddaramaiah is believed to have urged Muslim clerics(Ulemas) to ensure that the Muslim votebase remains with Congress and that they don’t cast votes for JD(S) at a meeting held at the residence of UT Khader, Minister for Food and Civil Supplies on Thursday night.

The meeting did not gain much attention until the revelations came a day after the meeting on Friday, February 2, kicking up a row.

Taking strong objection to this news, JD(S) leader Ramesh Babu alleged that the chief minister was misleading the Muslim community to ensure a win in the polls. “This is cheap politics,” he alleged.
