Bengaluru: A woman has filed a complaint with the city’s police, claiming that she was bitten by a pet dog while walking on the street. In retaliation, the dog’s owner has been arrested for setting fire to two vehicles belonging to the woman and her son. The individual in custody in connection with the incident is Nanjunda Babu and has been apprehended by the Kothanur police.

On June 13, a domestic helper named Pushpa was bitten multiple times by a pet dog as she was en route to her work. In response, Babu and Gayathri promptly took the injured Pushpa to a hospital for initial medical assistance and implored her and her son not to file a police complaint.

Furthermore, they had assured to cover her medical bills and provide financial support until she could resume work. However, they failed to fulfill their commitment. Following their refusal to cover the medical expenses, she lodged a police complaint in July. Pushpa stated that it was this refusal that led to their act of setting both vehicles ablaze at approximately 3 am on Tuesday.
