Bangalore : Senior Congress leader and former minister DK Shivakumar has requested his supporters not to extend hands  seeking power  in the name of Okkaligas. The  senior leader’s appeal comes in the backdrop of the decision of a few ruling party members to meet party higher-ups  seeking a cabinet portfolio for him.

Shivakumar has in a letter to all Okkaliga members of the Congress  has asked  them to refrain from seeking favours in the name of caste  thereby  indirectly  taking a step forward in rebelling against CM Siddaramaiah.  Shivakumar whose road to the cabinet is blocked owing to the ‘tainted’ image,  has now shot a new weapon towards the CM.

In fact Shivakumar is frustrated  over  his failure to secure a cabinet berth despite succeeding in convincing the Delhi leaders.  Even AICC General Secretary Digvijay Singh who is in-charge of state affairs while participating in the first core committee meeting had directed CM to induct Shivakumar and Roshan Baig to the cabinet but of no avail.
