Bengaluru: Two days after Karnataka Congress president DK Shivakumar raised suspicion of his phone having been tapped, his brother and Congress MP from Bengaluru Rural DK Suresh, on Sunday said that he will approach the centre for an investigation if their plea is not heard at the state.

Though DKShi, on Friday did not level any allegation against the ruling BJP, it was evident that he wanted to train guns at the BSY government.

“I have strong doubts,’ said the KPCC Chief, who also wrote to Bengaluru Police Commissioner Kamal Pant, saying that in the past 2-3 days, the caller’s voice cannot be heard properly during incoming and outgoing calls and that there were “unwanted disturbance and sounds.”

Now, Suresh has said that the matter will be escalated if the state government did not take the complaint seriously.

“What Shivakumar has said is not an allegation but the truth. In case the state government doesn’t investigate, will write a letter to the Centre in this regard,” Suresh added.

On Friday, both home minister Basvaraj Bommai and revenue minister R Ashoka denied tapping phones of opposition leaders. Bommai said that as a “responsible” government, it would not do such things.

“Ours is a responsible government and will not stoop to the low of tapping phones, also we don’t have that necessity. …If he could not speak to his party leaders when they called, he should inquire with telephone companies about it. Alleging it as telephone tapping is not right,” the Home Minister said.
