Ramanagara: Member of Parliament D K Suresh has claimed that his brother, Congress leader D K Shivakumar, is behind bars because he rejected the offer made by the Bharatiya Janata Party’s high command to join them.

Addressing the Congress party workers here on Saturday, September 28, he said, “The BJP leaders had made an offer to DKShi to join them. They had also warned him of consequences if the offer was rejected.”

“Today, because he rejected their offer, he is behind bars. Agencies like the Enforcement Directorate (ED), Income Tax (I-T) Department and several others are being controlled by the BJP,” he alleged.

Expressing his confidence of DKShi getting relief, Suresh said, “I have faith only in the judiciary. We are expecting his bail to be sanctioned soon. In the current scenario, only the judiciary is out of the BJP’s reach.”

Meanwhile, he also lashed out at the electronic media saying, “The electronic media is telecasting fake news about me and my brother. I’ll be filing a defamation suit against them.”
