Bengaluru: A day after home minister M B Patil lodged a complained against him with KPCC president Dinesh Gundu Rao for apologising for the separate Lingayat religion issue, major irrigation minister D K Shivakumar came out in justification of his statement. Speaking to reporters, he stated that politics should not be mixed with religion.

“It is my individual opinion,” he said.

“M B Patil is my teacher (Guru) and I am his disciple (shishya). The party will decide whose statement hurts the party’s interests,” he said.
