Bengaluru: It was a black Friday for the ruling coalition government in the state as two prominent ministers of the Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy-led cabinet faced fresh troubles in two different cases.

Major irrigation minister D K Shivakumar was served a notice by the High Court on the IT plea in connection with the destruction of evidence. DKShi is facing charges of destroying the evidence on August 2, 2017, when the IT raided him inside the Eagleton Resort.

The Special Court for People’s Representatives had discharged all charges against the minister but now, the IT department has moved an appeal against the discharge order in the High Court. Based on this appeal, the High Court issued a notice to the minister.

In another development, the Enforcement Directorate issued a notice to minister for food and consumer affairs Zameer Ahmed Khan in connection with the IMA scam. Khan is accused of selling his property to IMA.
