Bengaluru: Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) president DK Shivakumar has formed a committee to bring back the party’s old horses who had defected to other parties.
The committee will be headed by former KPCC president Allam Veerabhadrappa and the members are Krupa Alva, Abhayachandra Jain and others.
According to sources, the idea behind the initiative is to strengthen the party in all the Assembly constituencies. “The committee will meet the defected leaders and prepares a list with recommendation on how they can be accomodated in the party in the near future,” said a Congress leader.
“The party is eying on more number of JD(S) leaders than BJP leaders. DKShi wants to wrest back South Karnataka from the JD(S) which is the key to realising his dream of becoming Chief Minister,” said sources.
