Bengaluru: AICC General Secretary Digvijay Singh is likely to be replaced by Bhakta Charan Das as in-charge of party affairs in Karnataka.

Das, from Odisha, is also an AICC general secretary.

It is believed that a section of Congress leaders in the state had pressed for a change.

The opposition came in mainly from anti-Siddaramaiah faction, which alleged Singh of having a soft corner for the CM and thus not presenting correct picture of the state to the party high command.

The official announcement may come in by month end, said Congress sources adding that the high command is waiting for the Assembly polls in four states to get over.
