Bengaluru: The Supreme Court has stayed the decision of the High Court Divisional Bench with regard to scrapping of State Dharmika Parishats

With this the Dharmika Parishats will continue to function as it is.

The body formed under the amendments to Karnataka Hindu Institutions and Endowment Act 2011-12 was squashed by the High Court in November 2015 on the grounds that the amendments were unconstitutional and partial.

However, the members of the Parishat moved Apex Court through the government and hearing the plea the Supreme Court stated that the Parishat should be allowed to function.
