DG Halli- KG Halli violence: police are verifying over 80,000 call records

Bengaluru: The CCB police who are now investigating the DG Halli-KG Halli violence which claimed the lives of four persons in police firing and caused a huge loss to the public exchequer through the vandalizing of public and private property including the destruction of Pulakeshinagar MLA, Congress leader Akhanda Shrinivamurthy’s three-floor house, are verifying over 80,000 calls made during the violence on Tuesday night.

According to the sources in the police, a huge number of calls were made during the violence in the area. “Now the police are verifying the call details and why this number of calls were made,” said sources.

Sources say that the authorities are reviewing the social media activity of a few suspects at the time of violence. “The social media activities of the local residents and a few outsiders may give a clear picture of what caused this protest followed by violence,” said authorities.

Meanwhile, according to police sources, several local leaders have been issued notices to appear before the CCB for investigation following the suspicion that they instigated the criminals to attack the residence of Akhanda Shrinivas Murthy. However, authorities are tight-lipped over their actions.
