Bengaluru: If the latest development is anything to go by, it seems all is not well in Janata Dal (Secular). In a sudden development, JD(S) MLA Pilla Munishamappa, representing Devanahalli, has resigned as MLA and JD(S) primary membership on Thursday.
According to the sources, Munishamappa has resigned in protest Nisarga Narayana Swamy joining JD(S). It may be recalled that Narayana Swamy had joined JD(S) recently. It is believed that Munishamappa and Narayana Swamy are not in good terms.
Munishamappa has submitted his resignation to Assembly Speaker K B Koliwad and requested him to accept his resignation as early as possible.
Speaking with media persons, Koliwad has said that he would take appropriate action after considering all options.
Meanwhile, JD(S) leaders are trying their best to convince Munishamappa to withdraw his decision to resign as MLA and primary member of the JD(S).
