Bengaluru: As if the BBMP and the BDA are the epitome of efficiency and transparency, a team of six officials of Delhi Development Authority (DDA) are on a two-day study visit to the City. They plan to talk to all civic agencies and understand the regulations in force and how Bengaluru functions.

The study of Bengaluru is a part of their study of various cities across the country with the objective of revising the DDA Act. The meeting covered many topics including housing, vertical growth, infrastructure, lake restoration, town planning and area expansion. They also wanted to know the planning methods incorporated by the State, BDA and other development agencies.

On Wednesday morning the team held an hour-long meeting with Bangalore Development Authority (BDA) officials.

Madhukar Gupta, former home secretary and chairman of high-level committee heading the team said “The trends of urbanization have changed and this is why we are visiting many Indian cities and collecting inputs. We have visited Hyderabad, Pune and Ahmedabad. We will also visit Chennai and Mumbai.”
