Bengaluru: As the actor-politician, Late Ambareesh is getting a memorial in the Kanteerava Studio, the much-awaited and prolonged discussion on the veteran actor Vishnuvardhan’s memorial has sparked up yet again but this time, his son-in-law Anirudh is in action.

Addressing a press meet, Anirudh said, “We have been requesting for a memorial of Dr. Vishnuvardhan from the past nine years and since six years we have been waiting for it to be built at Abhiman Studio.”

“We are also waiting for a response from the government on the memorial to be built in the already specified area from the past two years”, he added.

He said that the family would not agree for a change of location as specified by the government as it is showing five different lands to build the memorial.

Anirudh said that the current coalition government has given assurance of constructing one, very soon and that he hoped for the best.

He also said that in the family specified land, they have already dug a borewell.

As the farmers have knocked the door of the court on the land dispute, Anirudh has urged the government to settle the matter with the farmers. The family has agreed to build a memorial in the government specified land and that the family would not shift the venue of the memorial from Mysuru.

He opined that if the memorial can be constructed in Mysuru, it would be great as the fans of Dr. Rajkumar, Ambareesh and Dr. Vishnuvardhan greatly respect the trio.

According to Anirudh, if all the three actors’ memorials are constructed in Kanteerava Studio itself then it would have no value and that Vishnu’s family would not visit that memorial.

Speaking to one of the regional media sections after the press meet, Anirudh vented out his frustration said that though five chief ministers had come to power after the death of Dr. Vishnuvardhan none had attended to the matter of constructing the memorial seriously but had made the family wait outside their office for hours together.

He also said that he would not criticise the current Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy as it was not only he who treated this matter lightly.

Meanwhile, Anirudh warned the coalition government saying that if there was no action by December 30, Vishnu fans would protest intensely against the government statewide.

Anirudh said that the family’s patience had reached a saturation point and that it would not tolerate any negligence in this matter.
