Bengaluru: The deaths of two DySP’s in one week period has hogged the limelight in the media and many versions for the cause of death are making rounds in public domain, however a WhatsApp message circulated by a cop among the known people saved his life.
The cop’s situation who wanted to end his life by committing suicide was no different from that of DySP’s , except that his death note was circulated among his family members and friends in WhatsApp. The What’s app message which contained the photo image of his letter written in his own hand writing saved him from his death.

Srinivas, a cop attached to Jayanagar police station had written a death note and then circulated it on WhatsApp. Immediately senior police officials swung into action and counselled him not to commit suicide.

The reason for committing suicide was no different from those of DySP’s (bases on reports) where he too mentioned about frequent harassment and pressure from his senior staff and others working with him in the station. In his death note he mentioned about Jayanagr police station Inspector Rajesh Kotian, Siddapur police station indpector Rahavendra, Jayanagar Sub-divisioon ACP Kanthraraju and station writer Chamaraja.

Deputy Commssioner of police SP Sharanappa reacting on the issue said, “The senior officials have taken necessary measures at the right moment after realising his motive and the reasons behind it.” He said that he would talk to the officials named in the death note and take corrective measures to prevent such incidents.

In reality the social networking sites which are responsible for many unaccounted deaths has managed to save one life as it enabled the circulation of death note before the cop could commit suicide.
