Bengaluru: Dr.Gopal Karjol, elder son of Deputy Chief Minister Govind M Karjol was airlifted to Hyderabad for Covid 19 treatment.

As per sources, he was undergoing treatment in a private hospital in the city over the last several days and has been on ventilator for the last 23 days. However, when his condition deteriorated, he was airlifted to Hyderabad.

It can be recalled that 8 persons of the family including DCM himself were tested positive for Covid 19.

The DCM, whose presence while Shira bypoll candidate submitted nomination stoked a controversy becaue many said that he never ventured out to assess the flood damages in the northern parts of Karnataka.

It may be recalled that Gopal had even tried his hands on politics and contested in the 2018 polls from Nagathan constituency in Vijayapura. However, he had lost.
