Bengaluru: Deputy CM Ashwath Narayan has promised the Kannadigas stranded in UAE all support and help from the state government.

Addressing the representatives of various Kannadiga organisations over video conferencing, the DCM informed that the state has raised the UAE Kannadigas’ issue with the Centre and has sought help to get back the Kannadigas stranded in UAE either by airlifting or by other suitable means.

The DCM said that even quarantining of the stranded Kannadigas will be taken up by the state government on their return.

During the interaction, a few Dubai Kannadigas said that not less than 10 to 15 people live in one room in the UAE and hence they are vulnerable because even if one person contracts the infection, rest of them living with him in the same accomodation are at risk.

Responding to this, the DCM said that the issue will be taken up seriously with competent authorities and if such Kannadadigas wish to return to India, their quarantining responsibility will be taken care by the government.

The DCM lauded the NRI and Kannadiga organisations and several Kannadigas entrepreneurs who have been helping the diaspora during this time of crisis and difficulty.

KNRI President Praveen Shetty, Anivasi Kannadigaru, Dubai President Mohommed Naveed among others took part in the interaction.
