Davanagere: A youth, who tried to die by suicide by consuming poison after killing a young woman in a brutal manner after she refused to marry her, died on Friday December 23.

The deceased has been identified as Sadat, a native of Harihara, who had murdered the girl and consumed poison.

On Thursday December 22 Sadat stabbed a young woman named Chand Sultana to death on Church Road and fled. He then attempted suicide by consuming poison. He was admitted to a private hospital

He died on Friday December 23.
