Bengaluru: Hours after the case involving death of IAS officer D.K Ravi was handed over to the Criminal Investigation Department (CID), the State Government transferred head of CID to Lokayukta. Subsequently, the government placed senior IPS officer C.H Pratap Reddy in the post of Inspector General of Police (IGP) of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) with immediate effect.

Besides, the state government issued transfer orders of three IPS officials.
Earlier, Pronab Mohanty was handling the post of IGP CID. He has been, now, transferred to the Lokayukta as its IGP. While, Pratap Reddy was the IGP of Internal Security Division.
Mohanty who earlier served Lokayukta as DIGP, has returned to the anti corruption watchdog, as IGP, Karnataka Lokayukta, Bengaluru, in the upgraded post by keeping the cadre post of Deputy Inspector General of Police, Karnataka Lokayukta, Bengaluru in abeyance.
It is the second transfer of IGP CID officer in the last five months. The transfer comes right after the case of IAS officer’s death handed over to the CID.
