Cyclone Fani: 50 stranded K’taka tourists expected to reach B’luru today

Bengaluru: As many as 50 tourists who were stranded at the Veer Savarkar International Airport in Port Blair due to Cyclone Fani, have reached Kolkata and are expected to come to Bengaluru today, May 6.

According to sources in the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO), the 50 tourists include residents of Moodbidri, Mudigere, Hassan, Madikeri and Bengaluru.

“After the CMO’s intervention, they were ferried to Kolkata on Sunday. These tourists staged a dharna at the airport demanding early arrangement of flights to Bengaluru. The private airlines, for which they had reserved tickets, agreed to arrange flights to Bengaluru on Monday,” informed sources.
