Bengaluru: In a rare incident, a couple which tried to kill itself by jumping off the top of a hill, fortunately survived with some fractures. A 21-year-old youth and his 18-year-old girlfriend (names not revealed) tried to end their lives, distressed over their parents not accepting their marriage.

Reportedly, the couple which tried to kill itself by jumping from Ramadevarabetta in Ramanagara, on Wednesday, June 26, fell from a height of about 100 feet, but fortunately, survived with some fractures. It is said that they fell on the trees first before hitting the ground. Both have been hospitalised and are in a stable condition.

The guy from Avalahalli in Bengaluru, is working in a private company and the girl is an ITI student from Srinagar. According to police sources, the couple attempted suicide as the girl’s parents did not agree for their marriage because they belonged to different castes.

The Ramanagar Rural Police have registerd a case.
