Bengaluru: Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) corporator N.R. Ramesh of Yadiyur ward along with three revenue officials have been accused of misappropriating property tax amount collected from 2008 to 2015.

Based on the complaint filed by Prashanth Kumar C.,  on Wednesday the Bangalore Metropolitan Task Force has taken up a complaint against Ramesh, Assistant Revenue Officer, Narayana, Revenu Inspector Ramaiah and Tax Inspector Srnivas of Yadiyur BBMP ward office under cheating.

Kumar in his complaint accused Ramesh and others for large scale irregularities in the property tax collected for the past 8 years. The officials concerned did not remitted to the BBMP and misappropriated the amount. The accused have also allegedly taken kickbacks from the major commercial property owners in the area to felicitate them pay lesser taxes.

The BMTF officials said that the notices will be sent to the accused to record their statement in this regard to further investigation.
