Bengaluru: A corporator’s friend suffered injuries when a loaded pistol accidentally fired on Thursday morning in Basaveshwaranagar.

The injured is Shivakumar, a close associate of Krishnamurthy, a BBMP Congress corporator of Rajajinagar ward.

According to police, the pistol fired when Shivakumar accidentally pulled the trigger in an attempt to pull out tissue papers kept in the dash board where both were kept together.

Both the corporator and his associate were inside the car when the incident occurred.

Police have registered a case and the investigation is on. It is yet to ascertain whether the corporator had licence to possess the pistol or not.
