Bengaluru: Thousands of Bengaluru residents returned to their native places on Monday night after the state government announced a total lock down.
A majority of them used two-wheelers to reach their villages as the state government sealed inter-district borders and banned movement of vehicles.
According to the authorities, the Nelamangala toll gate witnessed traffic jam till Tuesday early morning as the people continue to travel.
It can be recalled that the state government announced a total lockdown till March 31 to contain the spread of the Covid 19 cases.
According to the police, it is not practically possible to stop the people from moving from one district to another within the state.
“But it is better to stay back in the towns instead of moving to villages,”explained a police officer.
