Bengaluru: The state government, which is under pressure following the increasing cases of COVID-19 has reportedly written to the central government saying it can’t permit the IPL 2020 matches in Bengaluru.
According to the sources, the state government made it clear that it is not possible to hold the IPL matches in Bengaluru as the large gatherings may result in spread of this virus.
It can be recalled that the state government already issued advisory against all kinds of mass gatherings as part of its drive against the spread of this fever.
Chinnaswamy stadium in the city is the home ground for the Virat Kohli-led RCB franchise. If the permission is denied for the IPL matches, it will be a big problem for the franchise.
