Bengaluru: Congress MLA BZ Zameer Ahmed Khan is under attack for asking why the Corona Warriors had to visit Padarayanapura in the night to carry on quarantining operations.
Violence broke out in Padarayanapura on Sunday late night when the Corona Warriors arrived in the area to quaratntine at least 50 local residents who were identified as secondary contacts of COVID-19 positive patients.
Responding to this episode, Khan, who represents Chamrajpet constituency, where Padarayanapura falls, raised objection to the operation and asked why the police and the health officials had to come to the area in the night.
When criticism mounted, the legislator soon did a ‘U-turn’ and said that efforts were being made to drag his name into the controverys.
“My statement is being misconstrued. All I wanted to say is that if the operations were done in the daytime, it would have been swift as the Corona Warriors could have had convinced the people. There is no way that I will support violence or attack on Corona Warriors. I demand action against the guilty,” he tweeted.
