Bengaluru: The All India Congress Committee (AICC) is expected to approve the list of candidates for 20 Lok Sabha seats of the state on Friday evening.

According to party sources, former CM Siddaramaiah, KPCC president Dinesh Gundu Rao, and DCM Dr G Parameshwara held a marathon meeting with AICC president Rahul Gandhi on Thursday night and the list is almost final. “Once the party screening committee approves the list, it will be published. The screening committee meeting is scheduled to be held on Friday,” said a party leader.

As per the sources, the AICC leadership held a marathon meeting with the KPCC leaders and senior party activists from across the state, to finalise the candidates for each of the constituencies. The leaders also requested Rahul Gandhi to contest from the state to boost the party’s fortunes in the election.
