Bengaluru: Former CM Siddaramaiah called for a meeting of the Congress Legislative Party (CLP) today at the Vidhana Soudha to decide the future of the ruling Congress-JDS coalition government.

The meeting is scheduled to be held at 5 PM. The Congress has warned of action against those MLAs who fail to attend this meeting.

The CLP meeting has gained importance as the BJP is expecting at least 8 to 9 Congress MLAs to absent themselves to make way for the fall of the coalition government led by Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy.

On the eve of the meeting, two MLAs who were reportedly in Mumbai- Shivarama Hebbar (Yallapur) and Nagendra (Kudligi), met the Congress leaders in Bengaluru and confirmed that they are not leaving the party.

But, uncertainty continued over the decision of Ramesh Jarakiholi, Anand Singh, Umesh Jadav, and Mahesh Kumatahalli. A BJP leader has also said that wight MLAs will be resigning.
