Bangalore : Several Congress leaders who were hoping to bag tickets to contest assembly polls are a disappointed lot with the Congress high command making it clear that no sitting MP or MLC will be given a ticket.
The Congress decision has been a great disappointer to Mysore-Kodagu MP H Vishwanath. Sources said the party has finalized candidates for 175 constituencies in the state. Meanwhile, there is a chance of giving representation to women in some constituencies, with the Congress President Sonia Gandhi irked with the failure to give representation to women.
According to sources, the party list is expected to be released in April first week. It has been learnt that the party has chosen Siddaramaiah from Varuna constituency, Srinivas Prasad from Nanjangud, HC Mahadevappa from T. Narasipur, Doddaswami Gowda from KR Nagar, Tanvir Sait from Narasimharaja constituency, K Venkatesh from Piriyapattana, Ambarish from Mandya among others.
