Bengaluru: The AICC has appointed sulking senior party leader from the state, former major irrigation and rural development and Panchayat Raj minister H K Patil as KPCC campaign committee chief.
Patil will replace D.K. Shivakumar.
An announcement in this regard was made by AICC president Rahul Gandhi in New Delhi.
“Congress President Rahul Gandhi has approved the name of H.K. Patil, ex-Minister, as Chairman of the Campaign Committee for Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee, in place of D.K. Shivakumar, with immediate effect,” the All India Congress Committee said in a statement.
According to sources close to Patil, he may not accept the new post as a sign of protest.
