Bengaluru: Senior Congress leader Ramalinga Reddy on Thursday, accused the party of using a “pick-and-choose” policy and overlooking the seniors.
The senior leader had kept mum about his views on the functioning of the state government, but broke his silence after it was announced that the Cabinet would be expanded on December 22.
Speaking to reporters, Reddy expressed his unhappiness with the party’s decision to give “newbies a chance in the Cabinet.”
“Some seniors were left out. This has become pick-and-choose. Either they should give posts to all seniors or not at all,” he said, adding that R V Deshpande, K J George and D K Shivakumar have been ministers in the past.
Reportedly, there has been a lot of disgruntlement within the party as a result of how ministers were chosen. Reddy, along with former ministers M B Patil and H K Patil, have been asking the party leadership to explain how and why they picked some seniors.
