Bengaluru: The Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) decided against a Cabinet reshuffle. They have decided, instead, that only two cabinet berths will be filled. Two independent MLAs, Shankar of Ranebennur and Nagesh of Mulabagalu will join the Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy-led coalition government as party nominees.

This decision has been made based on the suggestions of former CM Siddaramaiah.

According to sources, the JDS is also expected to induct two of its MLAs to the state cabinet.

Earlier, a few senior Congress leaders urged the party high command to reshuffle the state Cabinet to make way for the rebels but Siddaramaiah opposed this.

“After a marathon meeting between the party’s state leaders and AICC Karnataka in-charge K C Venugopal, it was decided not to go through with a Cabinet reshuffle. Only an expansion will be done,” explained a Congress leader.
