Bengaluru: Even though the Home Minister Ramalinga Reddy declared that a complaint given against Vidhwat by Mohammed Nalapad’s assistant Arun Babu will be canceled, the Cubbon Park police have sent the complaint to the Central Crime Branch (CCB). Vidhwat is in the ICU after a deadly attack by Mohammed Nalapad and gang at ‘Farzi Cafe’ in City, recently.

According to the police sources, the police commissioner had ordered to transfer the whole case to the CCB on February 19. Later, the CCB police investigated the accused in the custody itself. “We have handed over all the documents to the investigating agency. It includes an FIR against Vidhwat as well,” they said.

“It is true that the Home Minister had assured of canceling the FIR against Vidhwat. But, we didn’t receive any official order. So, the investigation is in progress as per the law. But, if we receive any order, we can drop the case after informing the court,” one of the officers said.

Vidhwat’s friend Praveen Venkatachalaiah had complained that Mohammed Nalapad and his friends attacked Vidhwat in ‘Farzi Cafe’. Mohammed’s friend Arun Babu registered a counter complaint that Vidhwat and his friends were drunk and attacked them.

However, CCTV footages showed that the quarrel began from Nalapad gang. So, as per the demand of the opposition parties, the Home Minister had agreed to cancel complaint against Vidhwat.
