Bengaluru: Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Sunday said that the complaint registered against him with the ACB to probe Hublot watch issue has helped him to prove a point.
Replying to reporters queries, CM said, “The opposition made charges that ACB is a dummy organisation and complaints cannot be filed with the investigative agency. That their charges are baseless has been proved wrong by the complainant. I am ready for the?probe.”
A complaint was filed by a Bengaluru-based advocate with the DIG’s office seeking probe into CM’s watch controversy. The watch which opposition leaders claimed cost Rs 70 lakh, was declared as state asset by the CM after much criticism.
While CM had claimed that the Hublot was a gift given to him by his NRI doctor friend Dr Girish Chandra Varma, Sharma has sought a probe to find whether the Rs 70 lakh Hublot was in reality a gift to the CM or not.
