Bengaluru: Is it safe to commute on Nandi Infrastructure Corridor Enterprises (NICE) Road even at noon? “No, it is not safe,” says Rajyashree Vishanth, Mrs India from Karnataka.

In a Facebook post to Bengaluru City Police, Rajyashree recalled a horrifying incident that took place at around 1 pm on Sunday. Mrs India has narrated her trauma and shock when a stranger approached her while she was standing near the two-wheeler that broke down on the NICE Road.

Rajyashree said she was on her way home with her husband on Sunday afternoon. The couple was travelling on their two-wheeler on the NICE Road when she had to face the horrific experience of her life.

Their vehicle broke down in the middle of the NICE Road, and they could not see any help. Meanwhile, Rajyashree’s husband stopped a vehicle passing the NICE Road and drove with them to bring a mechanic. Rajyashree was waiting on the NICE Road when a man wearing a white helmet appears before her. As he approached her, he removed his shirt and was seen wearing a bra stuffed with cotton.

“He pulled me towards him, and I could see he was wearing lipstick but was not transgender. I cried for help, but there was no one to help. Even the vehicles passing on the road were travelling at a high speed and no one stopped to help. Then I threatened him by saying that I will call the police. Then he took his own vehicle to the other side of the road. To my utter surprise, he appeared again after 10 minutes. When I started clicking his photograph, he fled the place. His face was not captured as he was wearing a helmet,’’ she said.

She said the NICE Road seems to be dangerous. “Even when I tried to contact the helpline, no one responded properly. Though we had to wait there for hours, no authority came to our help,” she said.

She opined the perverts are threat to not only for women but also for men. “The police told me of coming across eight such cases on the NICE Road,’’ she said.
