Bengaluru: After adding 66,000 people in the last five years, and 7,000 more in the first two quarters of this year, Cognizant has now crossed the two Lakh level of headcount in India, and a total strength of 2.9 lakhs worldwide.
Only TCS, with a headcount of over 4 lakh employees, mostly in India, is larger than Cognizant.
CEO Brian Humphries, marking this achievement in a letter to all employees, called the Company ‘a jewel blending innovation with efficiency into the industry’s most admired delivery engine’.
As other IT firms move away from headcount based revenue to business outcome-based revenue, Cognizant’s faith in a good headcount shows that India still remains a robust delivery engine.
