Bengaluru: The Chief Minister will hold an all party legislature meeting on the Mahadayi water dispute issue on Sunday.
The focal point of the meeting is to decide on the future course of action over the burning issue of Mahadayi water dispute with neighboring states. The meeting comes in the background of the legal team for the state led by senior counsel Fali Nariman advising them not to appeal the interim order of the Mahadayi Water Disputes Tribunal, which rejected the state’s plea of releasing water for drinking and irrigation purposes.
All the parties have been said that the the Prime Minister should intervene in the matter and the states involved in the issue, Karnataka, Goa and Maharashtra should work out a plan to settle the issue for an amiable out of court. But so far Modi has remained non responsive to the state leaders’ demand.
