Bengaluru: Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has appealed the employees of state transport department to withdraw the strike in public interest.
Speaking to the media on Sunday, he made an appeal to withdraw the strike in the interest of general public who will be put to sufferings unnecessarily. “The KSRTC has been acclaimed as the best state-run transport service in the country and its employees are most respected in every means. I request you not to give a chance to dent the image by going on strike,” he requested.
Due to protest, helpless people like students, daily waged worker and other people from economically lower income class will suffer unbearably. Keeping this in mind, I urge you to withdraw the strike immediately and government will sort out all sort of demands that can be contemplated, CM said.
The KSRTC employee have gone on stir from Sunday morning demanding 35 per cent hike in salary. While the state has agreed to give 10 per cent hike, the employees have refused to take it.
