Bangalore : Chief Minister Siddaramaiah who convened a meeting with senior officials of various departments, including Deputy Commissioners at the Vidhana Saudha conference hall on May 27, Tuesday, pulled up the officials for their ineffective style of functioning.
The CM cautioned the officials to see that the government facilities reached the target group. Stating that the administrative machinery has seen a total breakdown, the Chief Minister urged the officials to put a brake to the same and ensure efficiency in administration. He also warned of action against officials who fail to mend ways.
Stating that he will not tolerate excuses, Siddaramaiah directed officials to ensure that all government schemes for the rural and poor people reached the target group. The officials concerned would be directly held responsible in case of any complaint of irregularities in the process of implementation of the scheme, he said.
The CM further said the Congress had come to power with a promise to ensure a corruption free rule, and that the government will have to keep up its words. He said there was no question of tolerating corruption that takes place after pointing fingers towards the Vidhana Saudha.
The CM also directed the district in-charge ministers to hold progress review meetings at least once in three months. Referring t complaints that the pension for widows, senior citizens and disabled were not reaching the beneficiaries, he directed officials to see that the pension reached them regularly. He set a two month deadline to set right the discrepancies and warned of action otherwise.
